Prints are sandwiched between a layer of acrylic glazing and Dibond backing. Sizes range from 15in x 10in up to 10ft x 4ft. This is an ideal image display system for commercial and industrial applications where size, durability, and an impressive presence are important. Custom shapes and rounded corners are available. Both glossy and matte finishes are also available, as well as acrylic thicknesses from 1/16” to 1/4”.
fotoflōt pro prints are made as traditional silver-halide photo prints (“C prints”) on Fuji Crystal Archive paper using the Lambda photographic system. The panels are constructed by sandwiching the prints between a layer of clear acrylic glazing and a sheet of white Dibond as stabilizer in the back. This technique is the preferred medium for high-end photography in Europe and becomes more popular in photo galleries and museums in the US as well. It is often referred to as “C-print mounted to Plexiglas”.
We have selected Dibond as backing material for its superior dimensional stability. It has been specifically designed to be a light but extremely dimensionally stable sheet product, is used extensively in architectural settings, and it is made from mostly recycled materials.
Depending on the thickness of acrylic used and your viewing angle, the product edge can appear transparent, frosted, or mirror like reflective. The thicker acrylic also gives some “3d” depth to the prints.
fotoflōt pro allows some level of customization:
Standard fotoflōt pro panel comes with a box frame attached to the back. The frame is constructed from black anodized extruded aluminum, provides flexible wall, cleat, and cable mount options, and floats the print 0.75” away from the wall. It is recessed from all four sides of the panel so that it is invisible once the fotoflōt pro is mounted on a wall.
Each fotoflōt pro panel comes with a unique serial number attached to the back that allows for easy reordering and customer service.
