fotoflōt pro prints are made as traditional silver-halide photo prints (“C prints”) on Fuji Crystal Archive paper using the Lambda photographic system. The panels are constructed by sandwiching the prints between a layer of clear acrylic glazing and a sheet of white Dibond as stabilizer in the back. This technique is the preferred medium for high-end photography in Europe and becomes more popular in photo galleries and museums in the US as well. It is often referred to as “C-print mounted to Plexiglas”.

We have selected Dibond as backing material for its superior dimensional stability. It has been specifically designed to be a light but extremely dimensionally stable sheet product, is used extensively in architectural settings, and it is made from mostly recycled materials.

Depending on the thickness of acrylic used and your viewing angle, the product edge can appear transparent, frosted, or mirror like reflective. The thicker acrylic also gives some “3d” depth to the prints.

fotoflōt pro allows some level of customization:

• Glossy or matte acrylic surfaces. Even museum quality or high impact surface protection are available
• Acrylic glazing thickness between 1/16″ and 1/4″
• Standard and custom product sizes of up to 10ft x 4ft
• Sharp, visually sharp, and rounded corners for rectangular products
• Non-rectangular shapes
• Mounting holes for puck mounting

Standard fotoflōt pro panel comes with a box frame attached to the back. The frame is constructed from black anodized extruded aluminum, provides flexible wall, cleat, and cable mount options, and floats the print 0.75” away from the wall. It is recessed from all four sides of the panel so that it is invisible once the fotoflōt pro is mounted on a wall.

Each fotoflōt pro panel comes with a unique serial number attached to the back that allows for easy reordering and customer service.

fotoflōt classic is a cleverly designed magnetic display system for hanging photographs or any other digital artwork. Swapping out pictures is as simple as changing magnets on a fridge. The fotoflōt display system uses mounting brackets that attach to your wall. Each bracket has magnets embedded into them. Panels have the opposite magnets on the back in matched locations. Once the panel is near the mount, the powerful neodymium magnets snap it into place.

fotoflōt classic panels are printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Professional Paper Super Type C, with a matte finish. We print on the Lambda photographic system, which uses lasers to produce the highest quality image you can get. After the image is printed, the archival paper is adhered to a thin panel of 1/8” gray acrylic. Print and acrylic are then precision cut with a laser, so there is no border around the picture and the edge is flawless. The laser fuses the paper and acrylic, ensuring the print will never curl or fray (as it does on foam core or Masonite boards).

The patented magnets are embedded in raised acrylic discs that are welded to the back of the p. The magnets on the frame fit snugly into the acrylic discs, precisely positioning the image during hanging. The powerful magnets will always pull the panels straight as long as the bracket is mounted level on the wall. Locks are optionally available to make sure no graphics go missing.

The mounting brackets are metal frames that screw into the wall. The mount can be installed anywhere you can hang a framed picture. In some cases and with additional magnets, we can support mounting directly to metallic surfaces without a mounting bracket. Some of our customers hide an ugly electric cabinets with fotoflōt panels.
