In preparation for the National Restaurant Association Show, International Golden Foods approached us for ideas on how to take advantage of their new booth space. Last year, they used our Curves Light 20ft Straight display as a backwall to their space. The show was very successful for them. So for this year, they selected a 20 x 20 peninsula booth. It would give them great visibility, but had height restrictions that wouldn’t allow them to use last year’s solution. The center 10 ft of the booth could be as tall as 16 ft, but only 4 ft tall within 5 ft of the aisles. They wanted a highly visible booth that would help them take advantage of this new configuration, had heard about our new backlit pop up displays, and wanted to see if there was an economical way to use them to attract more attention to their message while also staying within their budget.
We recommended something brand new that involved customizing the backlit pop up displays. Using specially designed connectors, we were able to stack two 10 ft wide frames, a 7.5 ft tall frame, and one 5 ft tall frame. They would make what would look like a single wall 12.5 feet tall and 10 feet wide. This tower of light would be skinned with a colorful graphic Golden would commission and become the focal point of the booth. The peninsula perimeter would alternate serving tables, retractable banner stands, and product displays, allowing their staff to prepare and handout samples and make contact. At the front of the booth, they would use last year’s GatherRound podium for lead gathering and processing.
A primary feature to note about our backlit hardware are the lights we use to illuminate the graphics. They aren’t edge lights. If they were, a configuration this big would lose brightness and become uneven. Instead, each quad of our system has its own “ladder light” filling it. So each quad gets the same amount of bright even lighting no matter how many we stack together.
Our backlit pop up displays are typically sold in four standard configurations: 2.5ft x 7.5ft, 5ft x 7.5ft, 7.5ft x 7.5ft, and 10ft x7.5 ft. For this project, we could have custom built the frame so it assembled as one seamless 10ft X 12.5 frame and graphic. But after some discussion, it was decided we would keep the two walls separate. Doing so would allow International Golden Foods to re-use the bottom backlit section and graphic as a single 10×7.5 backlit pop up at smaller shows. It would also pack in the GatherRound lead gathering station, one of our favorite case to counter solutions.
